A traineeship is a vocational training program that generally lasts one
year full time or two years part-time and are available to school leavers,
youth and mature age applicants and combines on and off-the-job
training.
Off-the-job training is dependant on previous training and skills, and the
host employer's capacity to provide training in the workplace.
Traineeships are nationally accredited and provide a stepping-stone
to further employment or study opportunities by delivering a certificate qualification (from Certificate II to Certificate IV level) at completion of
the traineeship.
