A new role for Andrew
Finding a secure job at the moment can be a challenge and for more mature jobseekers, it can be even more so. So Andrew Carr is happy to announce that with help from Directions’ Career Centre he has successfully secured new employment.
Andrew has previous experience as a welder, gardener and maintenance worker, carpenter, and general handy man, and has been on the search for something suitable for the last twelve months. He has had short term employment opportunities in that time but is now looking forward to having a more regular role in the local area. Andrew is also an active volunteer for the local School Volunteer Program where he helps a student regularly with literacy, life skills, and self-esteem.
Andrew received assistance career guidance and assistance in creating a career action plan, resume building and updating, computer aided guidance for job applications and completing online job search, information on training options, and has been registered with the Northam Job board to assist in job searching.
He also attended some of our free employability workshops including online job searching tips and techniques.
Andrew said he enjoys coming into Directions as it is a happy and positive environment. We wish Andrew every success in his new role.
