Working for your goals

Jesse Day is one of Directions’ newest apprentices and he is off to a great start!

Jesse was working as an Electrical Trade Assistant for over a year at Fourie Electrical and had impressed owners Dave & Louise Fourie with his dedication and commitment to the job. They had no hesitation in offering Jesse an electrical apprenticeship through Directions earlier this year.

Jesse recently commenced his first block of off the job electrical training at TAFE and staff have advised us that Jesse has excelled in the training and is ahead of schedule with his training plan.

On the job he has gained skills in solar energy installation, following conduit plan layouts, laying panels, running cables for sets of panels, installing feet to hold rail, railing, installing cable tray, fitting inverter to walls, inside roof work, and pulling AC cables to the switch board. He has also experienced electricity supply work, installing conduit and connection pits, reading plans, connecting cables in pits, wiring lights to pole, installing light PSP poles (pathway), and installing light poles for road, among other new skills.

All this and a little bird tells us that Jesse is also already purchasing his own home, proving hard work can help you achieve your life goals as well as your career goals.

In his spare time Jesse enjoys sport having represented WA in U18’s Rugby League and her is currently a member of the Fremantle Roosters A Grade Premiership winning rugby league side.
