Perseverance pays off for Margaret
Margaret Hepi moved to the Wheatbelt region two years ago and despite securing casual roles, had been unsuccessfully in finding the permanent operator job locally she longed for.
After getting local labour market information, resume building tips, and assistance to create a career action plan from Directions’ Career Centre team, her persistence paid off.
Margaret secured a full-time contract for in her dream job as a plant operator/general hand and “absolutely loves it”.
“Perseverance is the key” says Margaret, who had submitted four applications to the same company and never gave up.
“It was worth waiting for.”
Margaret made a point of popping in to our Northam office to thank the team for their help and ongoing support. She also shared her gratitude for our conveniently located office allowing her ready access to computers and jobs board to help her job searching and completing applications.
