Congratulations to Bianca Garlett who has this week commenced a new Certificate III Business Traineeship at the Directions office in Northam. Bianca is currently the third trainee to be employed as a staff member with the Directions team.
Directions has more than 120 apprentices and trainees who are then “hosted out” to a wide variety of businesses in industries across the region. Bianca comes to us having completed an Aboriginal School Based Traineeship in 2013 and will now further her training and on the job experience over the next 12 months doing office reception work at Directions, whilst gaining a nationally accredited certificate in Business.
Bianca now fills an important role as the first point of contact for all Directions clients accessing the Workforce Development Centre, The Aboriginal Training and Employment program or for assistance with Apprenticeships and Traineeships. Directions services does have a small cost attached, however benefits to the community are that we are able to provide employment in the wheatbelt for trainees such as Bianca.
This highlights Directions solid commitment to our philosophy which is to employ and retain youth in the wheatbelt. We encourage all business where possible to consider providing training and employment to local youth in either a traineeship or an apprenticeship, which will ultimately benefit the community as a whole.
Contact us for advice and assistance with traineeships or apprenticeships. We welcome any enquiries.
