Our highly successful free annual careers event specifically designed for the WA Wheatbelt is happening on 8 September 2021.
After the disappointment of having to cancel last year’s event due to the pandemic, Career Directions returns to the Northam Recreation Centre, bigger and better than ever.
Nearly 50 exhibitors will bring you jobs, training and education, employment and job support information to help local people plan and navigate their career journeys. There will be indoor and outdoor displays, activities, giveaways and prizes as well as the opportunity to engage with employers and so much more.
The event is open to all but registrations are required to ensure we are Covid-19 and safety compliant. Registrations can be made via Eventbrite.
The event was supported by over 30 exhibitors showcasing employment, training, and higher education opportunities for local people for a diverse range of industry sectors and occupations, with a focus on indigenous employment and training opportunities.
It was the first of its kind to be organised and delivered by a local charity. Interested job seekers, students, and parents from across the region attended including groups from several private and public sector secondary schools.
Students were asked the question ‘Where will your career journey take you?’ as they enjoyed the opportunity to engage directly with employers, training providers, and other service agencies. Plenty of information and resources were provided to attendees throughout the event.
There were plenty of giveaways on the day thanks to the generosity of many local businesses and fruit and water provided to keep everyone refreshed while they learned.
Feedback from the event was really positive and will inform future planning but we would like to thank all the exhibitors, food providers and the many others who helped make this event a hit!
