As part of the current WA Government’s move to amalgamate all its funded career and employment services, Directions Workforce Solutions’ contracted Career Centre and Aboriginal Workforce Development Centre (AWDC) have undergone some changes to both the name and their location.
Both the Career Centre and the AWDC now come under the one banner of Wheatbelt Jobs & Skills Centre as part of the broader Jobs & Skills WA.
The Department of Training and Workforce Development has also asked us to relocate the newly branded Jobs & Skills Centre to premises at Central Regional TAFE in Hutt Street Northam. The same dedicated team are now to be found in the Main Administration building. The services that Directions provide through the Jobs & Skills Centre will continue largely unchanged.
Our Directions Group Training (GTO) team are still actively supporting apprenticeships and traineeships across the Wheatbelt and Directions continues to work closely with businesses and stakeholders across the region to build skills, provide career opportunities for local people, and assist local businesses to be competitive including for major project work.
Our 30 years’ experience supporting the region means we understand better than anyone the local challenges for employers and we can provide the hands-on support and innovative solutions that enable regional businesses to grow their skills base and their bottom line in a sustainable way. We partner with each business to ensure both they and the apprentices and trainees have all the ongoing advice, mentoring, pastoral care and administrative support needed.
Our other details are unchanged and you can continue to contact Directions in Northam on 9622 6500.
