Directions school-based trainee Emily Jones has been awarded Trainee of the Year for 2018 by Northam Senior High School.
Emily was hosted with WA Country Health Services Regional Directors Office in Northam.
“Emily has been a pleasure to have in the WA Country Health Service Wheatbelt Regional
Office for the past eighteen months,” Melissa Wiktorski, Supervisor WA Country Health Services said.
During that time Emily has worked for a number of different teams both within WA Country Health Services Regional Directors Office and outside of the office, including Patient Safety & Quality, Executive Services, Nursing, Infrastructure, Fleet, Finance and Procurement.
“Emily has worked extremely hard to complete her Certificate II Business, whilst concurrently finishing her Certificate IV (in Preparation for Health and Nursing Studies) during her school hours. We were so pleased to hear that Emily was awarded the Trainee of the Year award at school and it is a testament to the hard work she has put in over the past two years.
“I have passed the entry test for the Diploma in nursing and as a result, I will hopefully be in the first round of offers issued by CRTAFE in January 2019,” Emily shared.
“During my traineeship I have not only acquired valuable administration skills but have also learned a lot about workplace behaviours and culture which is something that cannot be earned in a classroom environment. I feel fortunate to have been placed with such supportive staff who were approachable and helpful at all times.”
Emily is quite the achiever having also worked part time at Coles while undertaking both lots of training and keeping up with her school studies.
“Emily should be very proud of her achievements and she will be missed by all of the staff she has worked with. We wish her all the very best in her future endeavours,” added Melissa.
Directions is so proud of Emily’s achievements and wish her all the best for her future studies.
