Making a difference through training

Tajana Mulder is a Directions trainee hosted with Share & Care Northam as part of our Community Support Though Traineeships program. Her 12 month traineeship is being fully funded by Directions. Tajana started in mid October and has now settled into her role. Here she talks about her experience so far…

“I am very grateful to be given the opportunity by Directions for a one-year traineeship in Cert III in Business Administration at Share & Care in Northam. Everyone at Share and Care has been very kind and supportive and I have felt very welcome from the start.

“I am really enjoying my time so far and the work that this position involves. I like working in the reception area and having direct contact with the clients, whether in person in the office or by phone. It is nice to be able to assist clients, at the same time as being able to improve on my computer and administration skills.

“I am enjoying the diversity and being able to learn across about multiple services including financial counselling, emergency relief, emergency accommodation and aged services. Share & Care provide a fantastic holistic service, wrapping around clients to address all their needs.

“I am being provided with day to day practical experience, training and mentoring from an organisation which is well established and has comprehensive policies and procedures. This has made my understanding of my TAFE modules so much easier and the ability to earn an income and gain experience whilst I study is such a bonus.”

Directions is delighted to support the great ongoing work of Share & Care in our community and be working with them to support Tajana throughout her traineeship.
