Directions was proud to present two brand-new Toyotas to the McGovern Foundation as part of our new alliance.
The vehicles will support the Foundation’s driver mentor program, removing barriers to obtaining a driver’s licence and creating a stream of mentored, mobile and employable people who strengthen both workforce and community.
The McGovern Foundation was founded in 2021 by five-time All-Australian and premiership defender Jeremy McGovern and his father Andrew McGovern. Andrew brings more than two decades’ experience in community development, youth mentoring and program delivery - expertise that shapes the Foundation’s practical approach to social impact.
The Wanderer Program operates across the Perth metro area and in seven regional locations, making it a great match for Directions’ commitment to skills development. We’re excited to see how these vehicles help people who lack access or means to complete the learner driver hours they need.
Having a driver’s licence removes a major barrier to employment and training, including apprenticeships and traineeships.
“What can I say? Thank you so much — we appreciate your kind support. This donation will help so many disadvantaged people in our community by providing employment, training and independence opportunities,” Andrew said as we, together with Todd Lewis from Moora Toyota, handed over the keys.
We’re excited for the positive impact this alliance will bring to the community.
