Community Support Through Traineeships
Through this program we will provide support to our community via other dedicated charities and not for profit organisations, to help them grow and continue to make a difference.
By placing a fully funded trainee with the selected recipient organisation, we enable them to grow their internal capabilities while providing an employment and training opportunity for a carefully selected individual.
In its inaugural year, the Community Support Through Traineeships program funded two full time Business trainees for 12 months to WA organisations Mates in Construction WA and Share and Care Northam.
Directions sponsors individuals in need and Tremayn Turner is one of them.
Tremayn began his carpentry apprenticeship with Directions Workforce Solutions just over a month ago. Working on-site with the supportive team at Hanssen Construction, he’s already building practical skills, showing strong commitment and making steady progress toward becoming a qualified carpenter and saving for his first home.
Jezyca Alford, one of our Apprentice Advisors, first met Tremayn through the EET Program in Parkerville and was impressed by his aptitude and determination. He developed early hands-on experience through Try-A-Trade and continues to grow with the backing of his host employer Hanssen and our training support.
Tremayn’s first three months were funded through Directions’ community initiative. We’re proud of how far he’s come and excited to see where his dedication takes him next.
